Case Study for Shop Direct Group
The Brief
Shop Direct are implementing an Oracle product management system. However, the complexity of the pricing models for Shop Direct requires a separate module to support this part of the business.
The Simplified Buying application was specified by the business and required development in a very short time frame. Expertise in PowerBuilder application design and development were required to ensure the success of the project.
Shop Direct have outsourced all their IT operations to IBM and so contracted IBM to provide PowerBuilder development resource. The IBM development team were based in India and Shop Direct felt that they needed a UK based project manager to manage the interface between the business and the development team.

We proposed to supply project management and design expertise specifically with PowerBuilder skills. We would help with the system design process and ensure the business requirements were met by the IBM development team..
The timescale for the project was very tight and it became apparent that additional high quality PowerBuilder Development expertise would be needed. Powersoft provided this expertise to ensure that the more technical aspects of the development were successful and that the project was kept on time.
